David Bevington and Eric Rasmussen, who edited the original Revels edition over twenty years ago (and are two of the most eminent editors currently working), have hit upon the fascinating idea of presenting both texts on facing pages. Interestingly, the play has come down to the contemporary audience in two distinct versions that have become known as the 'A' and the 'B' texts. Faustus is one of the jewels of early modern English drama, and is still widely performed today. ![]()

When visitors position themselves correctly with the shapes, they can view an outline of the profile of a face.Ī plaza has granite paving stones with donors’ names and messages. Each has a series of irregular shapes on the side. Today, visitors to Franconia Notch State Park can “see” the Old Man’s profile through a series of steel rods driven into a granite base that hang over a lake and point toward the cliff. “While 3-inch turnbuckles had been bolted into the Old Man to try and prevent it from falling, the actual strength of the granite was degraded over centuries, and that’s probably why it collapsed.”įundraising began for a memorial soon after the Old Man tumbled. “The Old Man of the Mountain may have weighed nearly 2,000 tons when it collapsed,” said Maclay, who spoke about his research Wednesday. Viewers can see the model up close and at different angles. He also used original film negatives taken between 19 that documented the formation and area. He was assisted by Dartmouth collaborators who used a drone to do aerial surveys. Maclay, who is studying soil and rock samples from the mountain, created an online interactive 3D model of the Old Man as it was. A research project led by Dartmouth College graduate student Matthew Maclay estimates it was 750 cubic meters - “more volume than five school buses,” he said. Today, there’s a better sense of the volume and mass of rock that was lost when the Old Man fell from Cannon Mountain. ![]() Lakeville North's Nolan Winter named Minn. ![]() 5/26/2023 0 Comments The backstagers 1 james tynion iv![]() In this issue we are introduced to our main character, Jory, who has recently moved to a new city, which means he is now going to a new school. I’m all for representation, and it is good to note that the writer, James Tynion IV, is openly Bisexual and the artist, Rian Sygh, is openly Trans. And the best thing about this issue, like Lumberjanes, is the amazing representation in this very diverse cast of kids. That being said, I still really loved this, and I have even higher hopes for the actual first volume.īasically, this is Lumberjanes with an all boy cast. I normally do not review single issue comics, because it’s too difficult to get a good reading of them, especially the first volume in an entire series. I requested this because I thought it was the bind-up volume to be released in July. The long hours, overwhelming heat of the line, and difficult customers are universal across nearly all kitchens, and there are certain things people who spend a lot of time in kitchens have in common, such as Gabrielle Hamilton and I both love cleaning out and organizing walk-in coolers. Learning how different chefs got their starts and paying attention to their perspectives on the industry and advice for success, I find myself learning something from each book but also relating to the authors. I’m not sure what book it was that I was reading on that trip, but when I read that Blood, Bones, & Butter wasn’t published until 2012 (five years after my Outerbanks vacation) I realized I hadn’t read it and downloaded it right away. I had an image in my head of myself laying on the beach in the Outerbanks in North Carolina reading the book. It’s often regarded as one of the best chef memoirs, and up until last week, I was certain I had already read it. Earlier this week, I finished reading Blood, Bones & Butter by Gabrielle Hamilton. ![]() |
